Cancer Center
Cancer Resource Center Volunteers provide patients, families and caregivers with the resources they need to make informed decisions. They are responsible for assisting with referrals and providing information regarding American Cancer Society programs.
Emergency Room
Volunteers in the ER assist staff by ensuring that patients and visitors are made comfortable during their stay. Tasks include providing blankets, snacks and drinks, magazines, ice packs, and pillows. Volunteers may also help by stocking supplies, and greeting patients on arrival.
ICU/Surgical Waiting Room
Waiting room volunteers serve as liaisons between patient families and the hospital staff as well as for ensuring the comfort of visitors. Their positive outlook on life helps relieve the stress that families often experience during times of uncertainty.
Information Desk
The first faces most visitors see when entering Beechwood Memorial are those of our information desk volunteers. The duties of information desk volunteers include answering phones, escorting patients and visitors, assisting with admissions, maintaining the lobby, and providing visitors with patient room numbers.
Patient Ambassadors
Patient Ambassadors assist patients and their families by providing directions, answering call lights, supplying warm blankets and reading materials, and escorting patients and their families around the hospital. Their dedication and commitment helps brighten everyone’s day.
Chaplain
Chaplains are ordained members of the clergy who are responsible for providing prayer and comfort to patients of many faiths. They serve as liaisons between patients and their churches and assist families in dealing with issues of grief and loss.
- Chaplains must be pastors, priests or other members of the clergy.
Pet Partners
Pet partners work closely with nursing and therapy staff to help speed the recovery of patients dealing with major changes such as adapting to long term injuries or limited mobility resulting from a stroke.
- Handler and pet must be certified through Intermountain Therapy Animals.

Shuttle Drivers
Shuttle drivers make the trip from the parking lot to the front door a comfortable one come rain or shine. All shuttle driver applicants must:
