Diabetes is a growing problem, and eastern Idaho is not immune. At EIRMC, we may not be able to reverse this trend, but we try our hardest to help and inform those who have been affected.
Our diabetes educators are certified by the National Certification Board for Diabetic Educators. No matter what type of diabetes you’re fighting, or what stage of life you’re in, we’re able to deliver the most current, pertinent information to help you maintain control.
We have American Diabetes Association-certified educators on staff to administer our Diabetes Education Program. Multi-session instructional programs geared toward newly diagnosed diabetes patients deal with everything from general information about insulin resistance to learning how to use a glucose meter. We also help these new patients as their dosages are elevated to the prescribed amount.
Separate classes are available for expectant mothers, and also for long-time diabetes patients who may simply need a refresher. Whether giving group instruction or private lessons, we strive to maintain the flexibility needed to give educational assistance to anybody in need. Each of our students is doctor-referred.
In addition to outpatient instruction, we have a separate Diabetes Educator specifically dedicated to inpatient training. This part of our program also has several facets.
Our program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association.
