EIRMC meets or exceeds all recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for preventing infection in healthcare settings. These stringent guidelines are voluntary, and EIRMC is one of the few hospitals in the nation that chooses to adhere to them.
The result? Infection rates at EIRMC are less than half of those predicted by the CDC for hospitals our size. EIRMC is into “clean,” so you can be into getting better, faster.
Our efforts have a simple logic behind it: in a hospital setting, infectious diseases are largely preventable, because they're caused by various types of microscopic germs such as viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi, which we're fully equipped to combat.
Regardless of their point of source, diseases caused by infection range from the common cold or flu, to disabling or deadly conditions such as Lyme disease, HIV/AIDS, polio, and hantavirus.
