One of the most common reasons patients come to us here at EIRMC is for breathing disorders. For this reason, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center has taken special care to offer the most advanced treatment available in respiratory therapy. From breathing treatments to advanced ventilator care, EIRMC can address your breathing.

Treatment for your respiratory illness begins with our dedicated staff from the respiratory therapy department. EIRMC employs the most professional team of respiratory therapists (RT’s) in Idaho. Our team is made up of over two dozen respiratory therapists who are credentialed through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). These therapists come from different backgrounds and encompass critical care specialists, neonatal specialists, and emergency care practitioners. The team receives medical direction from the most experienced pulmonary medicine physicians as well as actively receiving training in advanced equipment and cutting edge technology which they employ daily at the bedside.

Our respiratory therapists work in all facets of the hospital. They participate in labor and delivery, are involved in the care of the critically ill, and ensure excellent bedside care for all of our patients. But that is only the beginning. As part of EIRMC’s dedication to our patients, even after they leave our facility, our RT’s also provide education in asthma, COPD, tracheotomy care, and other respiratory disease processes.

Perhaps one of the more outstanding achievements of the department is its involvement with EIRMC’s neonatal transport team. This advanced level care team has the ability to take or go get critically ill babies in our region and provide stabilization and transport to EIRMC where they can be treated in our high quality Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Centers RT’s are dedicated to the care of you or your family member’s respiratory illness. You will see them working side by side with physicians, nurses, and other therapeutic disciplines within the hospital. Your breathing is not just critical to you, it is the top priority of EIRMC’s respiratory therapy department.
